Strengthening disaster preparedness with a mental health service

Project Type:
communications and reporting, policy and program development and review
Client:

Central Coast Local Health District

healthy partnerships supported Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) to strengthen its Mental Health Disaster Plan and associated documents. We provided professional writing, editing, and sought subject‑matter expertise to refine key publications, ensuring they were clear, practical and aligned with local requirements.

Working closely with the project team, we reviewed and rewrote the District’s existing Disaster Response Plan, Deployment Guide and Model of Care.

This involved aligning with national and international guidance – including the SAMHSA Disaster Planning Handbook – identifying areas requiring clarification or updates, and assessing consistency and readability.

We refined and restructured content to enhance clarity, flow and usability, finalising all resources in line with CCLHD’s publication style. The resulting materials provide clearer guidance for staff and support a more consistent disaster response.
