Healthy ageing in the community: Bombala and Delegate

Project Type:
Stakeholder engagement and experiential studies: codesign

This rural codesign project involved working with local community members to identify needs, priorities, and develop local solutions to support healthy ageing in the community. The project combined asset-based community development with place-based approaches to deliver community consultation and codesign over three months.

Auspiced by South East Regional Leadership Executive, the project was delivered in partnership with Southern NSW Local Health District, Regional NSW, Transport for NSW, Snowy Monaro Regional Council and the Victorian Office for the Cross-Border Commissioner.

The final report delivered recommendations for community development support, community support and health services, transport, social connection, communication and information.

The project relied on the contributions of community members, consumer representatives and the Healthy Ageing in the Community Project Management Group. We thank local people who codesigned this report’s process, findings and recommendations – consumer representative groups and community members in drop-in sessions, cafes, mechanics, the library, Men’s Shed, the club, over the phone, on the main street and online. Thank you for your openness and generosity.
