NSW Stroke Ambulance model of care

Project Type:
policy and program development and review

healthy partnerships worked with clinical, implementation and policy experts across NSW to develop the NSW Stroke Ambulance pilot model of care. The NSW Stroke Ambulance has hospital-grade imaging capability and a multidisciplinary team linked to a stroke specialist neurologist. The NSW Stroke Ambulance intends to enable early access to diagnosis and time-critical treatment as appropriate.

Following on from the NSW Telestroke model of care, the Stroke Ambulance document describes critical elements and enablers of the model of care as well as key processes and procedures. Aligning with the NSW Telestroke Service, the project involved a review of clinical pathways, processes, roles and responsibilities, clinical expert review of content, identification of gaps and development of the model.
